As per recent updates, NEET UG 2026 MCC counselling is expected to begin around August 7, 2026, but students must understand one thing clearly: this is an expected timeline, not a confirmed official schedule yet. The final dates will be valid only after MCC uploads the official counselling schedule on its portal.

NEET UG 2026 AIQ Seats: What Comes Under MCC?

For most students, “AIQ counselling” means 15% seats in government medical and dental colleges across states. But MCC counselling is broader than only 15% AIQ. Based on the NEET UG 2026 Information Bulletin, MCC/DGHS counselling includes 15% All India Quota MBBS/BDS seats, AIIMS, JIPMER, central institutions/universities and deemed universities. For NRI quota candidates, MCC has already issued a notice for candidates who claim to be NRI/OCI or want nationality conversion from Indian to NRI for the academic year 2026–27. The notice explains eligibility conditions and says candidates applying for NRI quota seats must follow the required criteria and provide evidential/legal proof where applicable.

Documents Required for NEET UG 2026 MCC Counselling

Students should keep documents ready before registration starts. Do not wait until allotment because some certificates may take time to correct or update.

PwBD candidates should be extra careful. MCC’s July 30 notice says candidates who want to claim PwBD category in UG counselling 2026 must obtain an eligibility certificate from Medical Assessment Boards of MCC and submit documents including NEET UG 2026 scorecard, permanent UDID card and required affidavits. It also states that only candidates who obtain the eligibility certificate from a designated MCC centre will be shown choices of PwD seats.

Before Round 1 starts, students should divide their choice list into three parts.

The first part should include dream choices. These are colleges where the chance may be low, but the student still wants to try. The second part should include realistic choices based on rank, category and previous closing trends. The third part should include safe choices where the student may have a stronger possibility, depending on seat availability and competition.

However, students should not join reporting blindly after allotment. They must understand the rules for free exit, upgrade, resignation, security deposit and eligibility for further rounds. These rules can change depending on MCC’s official counselling scheme for 2026. So, after allotment, do not act based on old-year rules or WhatsApp advice.
