• 92.5% counselling covering government and management quota processes, including applicable NRI and minority categories.
• 7.5% reservation counselling for eligible Tamil Nadu government school students.

The Selection Committee has also published updated Round 2 vacancy documents and a notification regarding additional MBBS seats that were included in the ongoing counselling process.

For students already participating in counselling, this means the preference list should be prepared using the latest Round 2 vacancy position, rather than relying on the Round 1 seat matrix.

The Round 2 vacancy position has changed after the completion of the first round.

The latest official 92.5% vacancy document dated September 10, 2026 reports vacancies across government medical colleges, ESIC, self-financing medical colleges, private medical institutions, government dental colleges and self-financing dental colleges.

The 92.5% document alone contains:

• 2,331 MBBS vacancies
• 1,183 BDS vacancies

This gives 3,514 MBBS/BDS vacancies under the 92.5% vacancy document as of September 10, 2026.

The 7.5% reservation category is published separately by the Selection Committee, so candidates eligible under that reservation should check the corresponding official vacancy document rather than combining figures from different categories.

MBBS Vacancy Under 92.5% Counselling

The latest official document shows vacancies across several types of institutions.

The government-college vacancies include seats at institutions such as Madras Medical College, Stanley Medical College, Kilpauk Medical College, Madurai Medical College, Coimbatore Medical College and other government medical colleges.

BDS Vacancy Under 92.5% Counselling

The official Round 2 vacancy document reports:

• 82 BDS seats in government dental colleges.
• 1,101 BDS seats in self-financing dental colleges.
