From 2017, NEET Entrance Examination is mandatory for all medical aspirants. Any admission into undergraduate M.B.B.S, B.D.S programs will be through the aspirant’s NEET scores. It is used as a sole admission criterion by the IMO for all Government, Private, Deemed Medical Colleges & AFMC as well as other institutes. However, AIIMS and JIPMER has their own special entrance tests. Biology combination students (MPCB & PCB) are eligible to write National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

NEET 2018:

Total No. of Medical Colleges under NEET: 462; MBBS Seats: 63800
of Govt. Medical Colleges in Tamil Nadu: 19; MBBS Seats: 2555
of Private Medical Colleges in Tamil Nadu: 23; MBBS Seats: 3350
In govt medical colleges 85% of seats for local state (Tamilnadu) students & 15% seats will be given to National pool.
TN students are also eligible to get seat in 15% quota of national pool of other states.

Eligibility:

12th std studying or passed students with Physics, chemistry & Biology subjects.
Gen & OBC – 60% , SC & ST -50 % in 12th std examination
Age: 17years has to be completed on 31st December 2018. Born after 2nd jan 2002 are not eligible.
Upper age limit is 25years. 5 years relaxation for SC/ST/OBC students.

Test based on 11th & 12th CBSE syllabus.
Complete objective model &Offline only.
Medium of question paper: English & Hindi / Tamil/Telugu / Urdu / …
Total number of questions MCQs 180 ( physics-45, chemistry-45, botany-40, zoology-45)
Each question carries 4 marks & totally 720marks.
For wrong attempted question, 1 mark will be deducted from total.
Exam duration 3Hrs
NEET 2018 exam on 6th May 2018. From 10.00am to 1.00pm.
Application window will be opened from 8/2/2018 to 9/3/2018 (Friday) 23.50pm.
Correction in the application form from 12/3/2018 to 16/3/2018.
Date of downloading of admit cards from 2nd week of April 2018.
Results will be announced 5th June 2018.
